1/ Conan the barbarian, the daughter of Raktavashi part 2)
a rage of goblins, seeking revenge for a comrade's murder,
Conan tracks the Aquilonians Ormon and Pembrok
to the forbidden city of the sinister Khirgiz monks
high amid the crags of Vendhya's Mount Raktavashi
where the beautiful woman Nafertari is kept captive
by Roy Thomas and John Buscema

2/ Conan the barbarian, the blood of beasts
by Roy Thomas and Mike Docherty

last message of Roy Thomas (editorial):
Savage Sword began some 24 years ago in 1974,
there has been a lot of blood under the bridge since then, and
if one does not count the problematical MAD magazine,
(why problematical?),
Savage Sword has probably been the most successfully
long-running black-and-white comic book in America

Savage Sword's format enabled many of the middle-length Conan stories
by R.E. Howard to be adapted to a more natural length
than was possible in its color predecessor: Conan the barbarian
or for greater expansion of original tales (?)

not so very many weeks from now, a new black-and-white magazine:
Conan the Savage will be making its debut,
being the successor of Savage Sword

n.b. however despite the fact that Roy Thomas as a writer
as well as Ernie Chan, John Buscema,
Mike Docherty, Alfredo Alcala and Pablo Marcos
remained the main artists of the Savage Sword of Conan,
the continuous change in editors and illustrators
as well as the over-exploitation of Conan's adventures
led to the decline of this famous Savage Sword of Conan
and the succession taken with Conan the Savage did not last
more than 10 issues
